The Royal Mile in Edinburgh is made up of three sections.
The Lawn Market this is the top section next to Edinburgh Castle
The High Street is the middle section
The Canongate is the bottom section and home to Bagpipes Galore,the Palace of Hollyrood House and the new Scottish Parliament

The Canongate.
There are several niche shops based in this section of the Royal Mile including the "Christmas shop" the "Childrens Book shop".
The Canongate Kirk (churh) is also the final resting place of several famous people.
There are two small museums which are free to enter "The Peoples Story" and "Huntley House Museum"
