My son has one for his pipes in the Oman and has no problems at all. Set it up and leave it and do not worry about the heat. Nice one!
just got the SYNTHETIC PIPE CHANTER REED (soft) and I have to say it sounds great and is in perfect tune in my Shepard orchestral chanter! as I play mainly in ceilidh bands with accordions fiddles flutes ect it is this kind of consistent stability I have been looking for!
I will be ordering a few more just as spares.

I live in the USA and the reed arrived amazingly quickly. I am very pleased with it. It played right out of the box and has a strong, crisp sound. This is the best synthetic chanter reed I have used. I've used three different brands in the past but this one is without question the best. It plays in tune and is responsive. I would highly recommend this reed. I usually play a medium cane reed and I will probably order a soft synthetic next time. Without question I will purchase one again.

I obtained my second set of practice pipes 2 months ago after having bought my first set almost 10 years ago. The new sets are even better, seem more robust and sound excellent. Two words come to mind when I think of this establishment, quality and value. Service in the store was above and beyond the call of duty.... it is indeed refreshing to deal with this firm. Every band member that has tried them so far have bought a set, given that they are new to the market, the costs are dramatically lower than most other drone reeds on the market at present. It is a
good option for a beginner piper on a budget, or for putting in the hold of an airplane without worrying about the baggage handlers! I was suprised at how easily the whole thing worked, and how in tune it was. Love it!
